Footnotes
1
In Gen 5:32
After Noah was 500 yrs old (ESV, NIV84 translate

(wa) as
After;
while the KJV & NKJV translate

(wa) as
And. The NASB95 didn't translate the

(wa)).
We see in Gen 7:6 that Noah was 600 yrs old when the flood came. And in Gen 8:13 we see that Noah is 601 yrs old after the flood when he got off
the ark. Now in Gen 11:10 we see that 2 years after the flood Shem was 100 yrs old. So the probable age of Noah when Shem was born was
(601 + 2 - 100 = 503 yrs old).

See the notes in the Patriarch Ages timeline for how to determine Jacob's age when Joseph was born.
Dating when the children of Israel moved to Egypt
Jacob lived in Egypt 17 years (Gen 47:28) and he lived to be 147. So by subtracting 17 from 147, he must have been 130 when he moved to Egypt.
Now Jacob was born in 2106 plus 130 make it 2236 when the children of Israel moved to Egypt.
147 Jacob's age when he died
- 17 number of years he lived in Egypt
-------
130 age when he moved to Egypt
Dating the Exodus
The children of Israel live in Egypt for 430 years to the very day (Exodus 12:40-41). Therefore 2236 + 430 = 2666.
2106 year of Jacob's birth
+ 130 age when he moved to Egypt
+ 430 time that children of Israel lived in Egypt (Ex 12:40-41)
-------
2666 year that the Exodus occurred
Dating Moses birth
Moses lived to be 120 (Deut. 34:7) and he was 80 during the time he came before Pharaoh (Exodus 7:7). Which also accounts for the 40 years of
wandering in the desert. So 2666 - 80 = 2586 is Moses date of birth.
2666 year of the Exodus
- 80 Moses's age when he came before Pharaoh (Ex 7:7)
-------
2586 year Moses was born
Dating the start of building the Temple
In 1 Kings 6:1 it clearly tells us that 480 years has passed since the Exodus until the start of the temple. 2666 + 480 = 3146.
2666 year of the Exodus
+ 480 time since Exodus until temple started ( 1 Kgs 6:1)
-------
3146 year the temple was started
Solomon's Temple started ( 3146 ) 966 BC
This is where I correlated our dating system with the creation dating system. I found several reference books which dated Solomon's temple at 966BC
Notes:
-
On my 2008 copy, there is confirmation of correlating our dating system. See NIV Study Bible (copyrighted 2002, ISBN 0-310-92970-9) in the
prelude to Genesis-Author and Dating in the 2nd paragraph. Solomon's temple in 966 BC and the Exodus in 1466 BC and entry into promise land
1406 BC.
-
If you look on page 2 of the Holman Bible, and under the 2nd & 3rd headings you will find Joseph's death at 1805 BC and Abraham's birth
at 2166 BC. These correspond to the dates in my timeline.
